Lets Get Ethical Auckland Fashion Week

Networking breakfast and discussion panel Let’s Get Ethical event was held during Auckland Fashion week. It was time to find out more about New Zealand’s ethical fashion industry. Firstly if you care about who makes your clothes and what they’re made of, this was a noteworthy event to attend.

Natalie Cutler-Welsh hosted the panelists discussed key topic on ethical fashion in a up and coming sustainable environment.
The panelists were:
– Carolyn Enting; Editor of Good Magazine
– Kate Hall; Sustainable Living & Ethical Fashion Blogger at Ethically Kate
– Kerith McKenzie-Brown; Founder of Oki For All
Laurie Foon; Central Coordinator for Sustainable Business Network
Amy Conlon; Founder of Outliv

There were also ethical fashion pop up stores to browse and gain knowledge from including Mercy Hospice, Good Magazine, Doterra Oils, Outliv and Oki For All.

Outliv along with Grid Akl sponsored the event and $2 from every ticket sold was donated to the New Zealand environmental organisation Sea Cleaners.
The vision of Sea Cleaners, is to preserve New Zealand’s Coastline for the benefit of the marine life and for the enjoyment of all users. Their long term strategy is to educate people, particularly young people, to dispose of their rubbish in eco-friendly ways, including recycling, and so not to harm the environment.
